Our outreach program in the community of Batouri in Cameroon was a resounding success, with a focus on addressing the challenges faced by young girls in the community. The community of Batouri has been grappling with a high rate of girls’ non-education due to issues such as child marriage and teenage pregnancies. So, we knew it was crucial to provide support and resources to empower these young girls.
Throughout the outreach program, we were able to impact over 150 young girls, including disabled young girls who are often marginalized
Our organization is delighted to announce the success of our Outreach Program that took place in the
community of Njingang in Cameroon on February 2nd, 2023. The event was well attended, with over 70
young girls and 60 mothers participating.
The focus of the campaign was the challenges faced by young girls in the academic setting. We aimed to understand the obstacles young girls encounter in accessing and remaining in school as well as raise awareness in the community on the importance of young girls’ education. We invited both the young girls and their mothers
The turnout for the event was incredible–at the beginning, we had about 80 young girls
present. Throughout the event, more girls arrived, which truly showed the need for our
outreach program. The topic of discussion was the challenges young African girls face in
building their future. We had five speakers who shared their personal experiences and insights
into the challenges faced by young girls, particularly in low-income communities, which can
limit their access to education.
The event was held in a local community center
