Edith is a distinguished professor of social work with over 37 years of teaching experience at institutions such as Smith College and Oakwood University.
She was awarded the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award, honoring her pioneering contributions to social work pedagogy and her dedication to student transformation.
Dr. Edith believes that education should not only inform but empower and that educators and students carry the responsibility to advocate for freedom, justice, and expression. She has had the opportunity to travel internationally as a Fulbright Scholar, learning and offering guidance in the development and advancement of social work programs.
