The turnout for the event was incredible–at the beginning, we had about 80 young girls
present. Throughout the event, more girls arrived, which truly showed the need for our
outreach program. The topic of discussion was the challenges young African girls face in
building their future. We had five speakers who shared their personal experiences and insights
into the challenges faced by young girls, particularly in low-income communities, which can
limit their access to education.
The event was held in a local community center called ‘Ntam’ and was attended by a diverse
group of individuals, including teachers, community leaders, and of course, young girls
themselves. We had several speakers who shared their personal experiences and insights into
the challenges faced by young girls, particularly in low-income communities, which can limit
their access to education. Our focus was on young girls from 13 years to 18 years old studying in
a secondary school in the area. Our first goal was to talk with young girls about education and
hear them out about the challenges they face in building their future.
Thanks to generous donations, we were able to provide free food, books, writing and reading
materials, and hygiene supplies for the girls. These items were greatly appreciated by the young
girls and helped them immensely.
The community was incredibly receptive, and we were humbled to see the enthusiasm and
thirst for knowledge in the young girls. We were touched to find out that some girls had to walk
about two miles to attend the event, which showed how dedicated they were to learning and
improving their future.
The success of the outreach program has shown us there is a need for our initiatives in the
region. Our commitment to continue empowering young girls in Cameroon remains
unwavering. We are currently preparing for our next outreach program scheduled for August
14th, where we aim to provide full-tuition scholarships to ten impoverished young girls. In
addition, we plan to offer financial literacy materials to 50 young girls aged between 15 and 21
years.
We strongly believe that these initiatives will begin to enable these young girls to fulfill their
dreams and aspirations and break the vicious circle of poverty. Therefore, we kindly request
your ongoing support towards our upcoming outreach programs. Your generosity has been a
driving force behind our success and we hope you will continue to support us in transforming
the lives of these young girls.
Thank you again for your contributions, trust, and unwavering support towards our mission.
Together, we can make a difference.
